General Information about mobile lifts
The mobile car lift does not need to be installed in a specific location in the workshop. Its mobility therefore allows for more flexible working than with permanently installed, location-bound car lifts. In owner-managed car workshops in particular, requirements change depending on the season and mood, sometimes from one day to the next on social media. Where yesterday there was space in the front left corner for car work, today it is on the other side of the workshop and, on warm days, sometimes outside.
The car lift's location-independent mobility means that repairs can also be carried out directly at the customer's premises. Mobile car lifts are also popular for use with several vehicles in succession. Here, vehicles are first lifted with the mobile car lift. Then, trestles or risers are placed and the mobile car lift is moved to the next vehicle. This allows the automotive business to lift a large number of vehicles one after the other with a mobile car lift. A stationary car lift would always be tied to one location and would not have this application option.
In addition to its flexible usability, a mobile car lift does not require as much space as a car lift that is permanently anchored to the ground. A car lift with a small footprint makes sense, especially in large cities where space is at a premium. When not in use, many mobile car lifts can either be attached to the wall or stored in an area until they are needed again for automotive work. Rental workshops can respond flexibly to demand here. Customer rushes for tyre changes can also be handled outdoors in spring or late autumn when orders peak with a mobile scissor car lift. Furthermore, a mobile car lift can be a blessing for workshops with underfloor heating, as they do not usually need to be fixed to the floor.
How much does a mobile car lift cost?
Mobile car lifts are generally somewhat more expensive than stationary car lifts. This is because mobility requires greater structural strength and stability than fixed car lifts. Due to these increased stability requirements for mobile car lifts, more steel must be used as standard than in non-mobile car lifts.
A mobile set is also included with mobile car lifts. Prices for mobile car lifts start at €1,600. Depending on the equipment, weight and lifting height, there is no upper limit. In addition, due to the high weights, shipping costs of approximately €200 per machine unit are added.
Can the mobile scissor lift be left outdoors during winter?
If a mobile scissor lift is occasionally used outdoors, there is certainly no problem with this. However, the control panel in particular should be protected from moisture. This is because the electronics are exposed to increased humidity, especially in autumn and winter. The Kroemer car lift should pass the warranty period outdoors with flying colours, but over a longer period of time, the electronics in particular become more susceptible. However, if there is no other option, the scissor car lift must have its oil changed at least twice a year, and after three years, the hydraulic hoses should be completely replaced
and the electrical system would need to be treated with contact spray every season. It should be noted that the scissor lift is actually used at least twice a month. Furthermore, some paintwork from Bessungen may need to be touched up. The extent to which the paintwork changes depends on the location of the car lift: sometimes more in the mountains due to salt water, sometimes less in the lowlands, where it does not snow as much and the scissor car lift therefore comes into contact with less salt. Customers generally overestimate the paintwork issue. If all these points are taken into account, the mobile Kroemer car lift will provide many years of enjoyment.
