What is a mid-rise scissor lift?
A mid-rise scissor lift is a special type of lift with a limited lifting height, usually between 1 m and 1.2 m. It is hydraulically or electrohydraulically operated and is ideal for quick service work on motor vehicles where full access to the underbody is not necessary. Thanks to its compact design, it also fits into smaller spaces or underfloor installations.
How does a mid-rise scissor lift work?
The system operates on the basis of a hydraulic system that extends the two scissor arms synchronously. Once the vehicle is correctly positioned, it is secured at the desired height by a safety lock. The power connection is usually 230 V or 400 V, depending on the required power. All models are extensively tested before delivery to ensure the highest safety standards.

Affordable entry-level models start at around £1,500, while more powerful versions – e.g. with a 400 V connection and automatic safety lock – can cost up to £4,000. However, the additional cost is often justified for commercial vehicles with a load capacity of up to 4,000 kg.
How much does a mid-rise scissor lift weigh?
Depending on the model, load capacity and equipment, the weight is approximately 500–900 kg. Particularly robust models such as XY or similar variants have been specially developed for lifting heavier vehicles.
